Julia  Julia Lorimer, B.S. N.M.T., C.M.T., V.A., R.Y.T. is a Sanskrit scholar and has studied and taught therapeutic yoga and meditation for 30 years. Recently she returned from 12 years study in India (and USA ashram). Her indepth Sanskrit studies include texts on yoga, ayurveda and meditation and the spiritual scriptures, called Upanisads. Her primary focus has been to understand the spiritual scriptures of India in the context of a yoga lifestyle.

Her yoga teachers in India include B.K.S. Iyengar and family as well as numerous traditional yoga and tantra teachers. Her spiritual teacher, Swami Dayananda is considered to be the first Indian guru to share with Westerns in English the full traditional course of study on the Upanisads in Sanskrit, hence Julia’s 12 years of study. This ancient training is normally given only to select male Brahman Indians. Julia’s studies have given her psychological insight into the nature of the mind, behavior and a way of life which is one with a traditional yoga lifestyle. This culminates in an abiding sense of harmony and inner peace.

As a Sanskrit scholar, she brings a certain depth to her yoga classes aiding one’s personal journey towards inner peace. Julia teaches yoga and meditation courses and retreats nationally and internationally. In addition, she has a private practice as a spiritual counselor based in her course, 6 Steps to Inner Peace.
